Christopher Brodie, a 61-year-old man from Front Royal, Virginia, was being held at the Joplin City Jail in Missouri when jail staff reported a medical emergency at 9:22 a.m. on October 12, 2026. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and died there at 10:17 a.m. The Jasper County Coroner's office has scheduled an autopsy to determine the cause of death, and police say an investigation under department policy is ongoing.
