Christopher Ballowe
Christopher Ballowe, 48, was held at the Clay County Detention Center when his cellmate found him during an alleged suicide attempt on Friday, October 10, 2025. He was taken to a hospital, where he died on October 16, 2025. The Clay County Sheriff's Office said he had recently returned from a court hearing and showed no previous signs of self-harm risk. A death investigation has been launched, and the sheriff's office reported it as the fourth death at the jail this year.
