Chris Griffith, 39, died early on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at the St. Charles County jail in Missouri. He left behind four children, ranging in age from 22 to four, and his mother, Lorraine Fry, said his youngest daughter is autistic, misses her dad and sleeps with him every night. The jail said he had arrived on May 22 while detoxing from drugs and that he was found unresponsive in his cell during a wellness check. The jail said it found no contraband and no sign he obtained drugs inside, while his family wants to know how he could have died a week after booking.
