Chase Moore
Chase Moore, 40, was found unresponsive in his cell at the Gib Lewis Unit, a state prison in Woodville, Texas, on June 20, 2026. He was taken to the unit's medical area and then to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead just after midnight on June 21. Press information released by Hannah Haney said the Office of the Inspector General had been notified, that the cause of death is unknown, and that no foul play is suspected. The same report said his death was the fifth reported at the unit this year.
