Charone Wynn, 49, died on February 22, 2026, at the Stiles Unit in Jefferson County, Texas, a state prison where he was held. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice said he was found unresponsive in his dorm and was pronounced dead at 1:25 a.m. The department said the cause of death is under investigation and that its Office of Inspector General has been notified.
