Charlie Lekle

Charlie Lekle, a Black teenager, was held in the jail at Tifton, Georgia. Newspaper reports give his age as either 16 or 18, and one spells his surname Lekie. On Sunday morning, August 9, 1908, a mob took him from the jail and killed him on the outskirts of the city.
