Charles Philip Hatton
Charles Phillip Hatton, 71, was held at the Gib Lewis Unit, a Texas prison in Woodville. According to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and the Attorney General's office custodial death report, he was found in medical distress in his cell on May 1, 2026, and was taken to Tyler County Hospital, where he died. He had worked for Kountze ISD. The cause and manner of death are pending, and an autopsy has been ordered.
