Executed
Charles Kaiser
Charles Kaiser was a Washoe man, the son of Black Horse, a Washoe chief. The State of Nevada hanged him on May 21, 1909, and the Hawaiian Gazette reported that more than 600 Washoe people gathered at Reno after his death. According to the report, they planned a gathering for the day the prison warden would release his body to them. The paper said the Washoe resented not being allowed to deal with their own people under their own customs.
