Charles James Perry, known to friends and family as Jim, was 68 and had been held at the Wood County Jail in Texas since August 2014. Charles James Perry died there on March 22, 2015. The Wood County Sheriff's Office said Charles James Perry had a terminal illness and was attended by hospice medical staff at the time of death. The Texas Rangers and an internal sheriff's office investigation are reviewing the death, and its cause and manner have not yet been determined.
