Charles Hart
Charles Hart was believed to be about 18 years old. He was held in county jails in northwest Ohio in late 1894, and while in jail he asked repeatedly to see his father. After proceedings in Defiance County, he was executed by hanging at the Ohio State Penitentiary on April 12, 1895. The account notes gaps and contradictions in the reports of his statements and of how he was moved between jails, and no family member claimed his body, which was donated to medical science.
