Charles Cinqmars
Early on Sunday, September 6, 1896, a masked mob of about 100 men broke into the Glencoe county jail in Minnesota, where Charles Cinqmars was held. The jailer was tied in his chair, and the mob broke the cell locks to reach him. They took Cinqmars from his cell and hanged him from a bridge over Buffalo Creek, alongside another man held there.
