Charles Barron
Charles Barron Jr., 36, died in June 2022 in his cell at the Criminal Justice Center in Indianapolis, where he was being held. Court documents say his cellmate, D'Angelo Smith, strangled him with a bedsheet while video recorded the attack. Police say Smith then tried to make the death look like a suicide, and Smith later admitted to detectives that he killed Barron and staged the scene. Smith has been charged with murder.
