Chares Rist
Chares Rist, 54, died on March 25, 2020, at the Wichita Work Release Facility, a satellite unit of the Winfield Correctional Facility, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections. The department said the on-call doctor pronounced him dead at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital at about 11:33 a.m. The department said the official cause of death awaits an autopsy and that it is not believed to be related to COVID-19. The Kansas Department of Corrections and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation are investigating the death.
