Chadarion Henderson
Chadarion Henderson, who was 27, was a loving father of three who got his children dressed for daycare while working long shifts, and he hoped to become a welder. He died on August 1, 2021, at the Mississippi State Penitentiary in Parchman, Sunflower County, about 12 days after he was held there. His mother, Cheryl Henderson, says his mental health declined quickly during that time, that he was crying out for help, and that she repeatedly told the prison he was in crisis without getting a response. She believes that the lack of mental health treatment led to his death, which is listed as a suicide.
Cause of death, as reported: Died by suicide (disputed; neglect alleged). The family's account says Chadarion Henderson's mother Cheryl Henderson repeatedly told the prison he was in crisis and got no response, and she believes the lack of mental health treatment led to his suicide.
Reported by: Cheryl Henderson, his mother (family or their lawyers).
