Chad Berry Mackenzie
Chad Mackenzie, 36, died on April 3, 2025, while held at the Nash County jail in North Carolina. According to the Nash County Sheriff's Office, staff found him unresponsive in his single-occupancy cell shortly after 10 p.m., and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Sgt. Kevin Bissette of the sheriff's office said authorities believe he hanged himself. The State Bureau of Investigation and the N.C. Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are investigating, and the manner of death has not yet been determined.
