Cedric Smith

Cedric Smith was 33 years old when he died on August 4, 2017. He was taken from the Shelby County Jail on Poplar to Methodist University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He had a history of heart valve problems and had undergone heart valve replacement. An autopsy, as reported by The Commercial Appeal, attributed his death to an acute heart attack due to atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and complications of infective endocarditis.
