Cassandra Baker
Cassandra Baker, 27, of Bantam, was held at York Correctional Institution in Niantic, Connecticut, when she died on January 25, 2016. Staff found her in her cell that morning during a routine tour with a ligature around her neck, and she was taken to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London, where she was pronounced dead. State police and the Department of Correction said they were investigating the death as a possible suicide. The State Medical Examiner's Office was to determine the exact manner and cause of death.
