Carrie Stewart
Carrie Stewart, 48, died in 2022 at a hospital, according to a medical examiner's report that attributes her death to infections caused by intravenous drug use. She had been held at the Pottawatomie County Public Safety Center in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Oklahoma Watch reported that the jail asked a county judge to release her while she was hospitalized, and the request was granted. Oklahoma Watch also reported that the jail did not report her death to state regulators, so no safety inspection followed.
