Caroline

Caroline was held in Gaston County, North Carolina, and was executed at Dallas on January 22, 1892, according to a Raleigh dispatch printed in the New-York Tribune. The dispatch reports that she spoke for about eight minutes before the drop fell and maintained her innocence. It says she died about twenty minutes later by strangulation. Her case, as reported here, rests on that single dispatch.
