Carlton Lee Lawson
Carlton Lee Lawson, 50, was held at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia. On August 9, 2020, shortly after midnight, he was found unresponsive in his cell and was pronounced dead just before 1 a.m. The Virginia Beach Sheriff's Office said he died by suicide and that his screenings had not indicated suicidal thoughts. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Norfolk will determine the official cause and manner of death.
