Carlos Shelley
Carlos Shelley, 29, died on May 12, 2025, at the D.C. Central Detention Facility on D Street SE, where he was held. The Metropolitan Police Department said he was found with apparent stab wounds and pronounced dead at the scene, and it is investigating his death as a homicide. The D.C. Office of the Chief Medical Examiner later gave the cause of death as multiple sharp force injuries and ruled the manner homicide.
