Carlos Marquis Love
Carlos Love, 39, of Detroit, died at the Alger Correctional Facility in Munising Township, Michigan, on May 31, 2012. Alger County Prosecutor Karen Bahrman said an autopsy determined he died of manual strangulation. Another prisoner at the facility is suspected, but the prosecutor declined to file charges for now because that prisoner is already serving a life sentence. CBS News reported that state police and the Michigan Department of Corrections found he did not die of natural causes, and that the investigation is ongoing.
Cause of death, as reported: Killed by another person in custody. The county prosecutor and an autopsy say a fellow prisoner strangled him, and Michigan State Police say the same while their investigation continues.
