Carlos Cuesta-Rodriguez, 70, was executed by lethal injection at the state penitentiary in McAlester, Oklahoma, on August 13, 2026. Two relatives watched, and he turned his head toward them and mouthed "I love you," according to news reports. Reports say he was declared dead at 10:13 a.m. after several minutes of labored breathing. The Oklahoma Department of Corrections lists the death as an execution.
