Cameron Roby
Cameron Roby, a 23-year-old from Vicksburg, died in October 2025 after being held at the East Mississippi Correctional Facility in Lauderdale County. The Mississippi Department of Corrections said staff found him injured in his cell on Oct. 2 and flown him to a hospital in Jackson, where he remained for about two weeks before he died. His family told the Vicksburg Daily News that he was allegedly beaten by another person held at the facility. MDOC has not released details and says its investigation into his death is ongoing.
