Bryan Jennings

66 years old · died November 20, 2025 · Florida State Prison, Bradford County, Florida

Bryan Frederick Jennings, 66, was executed by lethal injection at Florida State Prison in Starke on November 13, 2025, and was pronounced dead at 6:20 p.m. His attorneys argued he lacked state-appointed legal representation when his death warrant was signed, but the Florida Supreme Court and the U.S. Supreme Court rejected those challenges. Members of a Daytona Beach church and other opponents of the death penalty held a vigil across from the prison, and the Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops asked the governor to spare his life. A statement from his partner was read aloud at the vigil. Sources list his crime as the killing of two of his sons, but his legal representation objection remains a point of dispute.

Cause of death, as reported: Executed by the state. His attorneys said he did not have state-appointed representation when his death warrant was signed, an objection to the execution rather than to the cause of death.

Reported by: Florida Department of Corrections (the agency that held him); his attorneys.
