Bruce W. McLaughlin Jr.
Bruce W. McLaughlin Jr., 30, was held at the Pickens County Prison in South Carolina when he escaped early on December 4, 2018, with another person held there. The Pickens County Sheriff's Office said he broke into a nearby home, where the homeowner shot him in the head with a handgun. He was flown to Greenville Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead. The sheriff's office said its preliminary conclusion is that the homeowner was protecting herself, and that the investigation is ongoing.
