Bruce Clements
Bruce Clements, 66, was held at the Alexander City Community Based Facility and was riding back from a work assignment on April 10, 2024, when the corrections van carrying him left the road in Tallapoosa County and hit a tree. He was taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries. Five other men on the van were hurt, and a sixth, Willie Crayton, was killed. The Alabama Department of Corrections said the crash was under investigation.
