Bronson Nunuha
Bronson Nunuha, 26, was from Hawaii and was held at the privately run Saguaro Correctional Center in Eloy, Arizona. On February 18, 2010, he was attacked in his cell by another prisoner, who stabbed him more than 150 times, according to an autopsy and trial testimony. His mother described him as a loving son, brother, uncle, father and friend who made everyone laugh and looked after his younger siblings. A jury convicted one man of murder in the killing, and the family's lawsuit over the death, which alleged inadequate staffing and that Nunuha had asked to be moved after threats, was later settled.
