Brittany Doescher, 33, was a mother who hoped to come home and start her own business, and she wanted to counsel other girls in situations like her, according to her family. She was held at Taycheedah Correctional Institution in Wisconsin and was hospitalized from February 22, 2025, then died on March 6 after nearly two weeks on life support. Family members said hospital staff linked her death to pneumonia, and they believe earlier treatment could have prevented it. A relative said that when they arrived at the hospital she was chained to a bed with blisters around her ankles. Fond du Lac County's chief medical examiner, Dr. Adam Covach, said the official cause of death is pending.
