Brieon Green
Brieon Green, 21, was a son, nephew, brother and friend, according to his aunt Monique Brewer, who said he had a learning disability; his family also says he suffered from mental illness. He died in June 2022 in a cell at the Milwaukee County Jail, hours after being taken into custody. An official investigation ruled his death a suicide, but his family and attorney B'iVory LaMarr say a phone cord was used to strangle him while an officer walked past his cell during a required check, and that the jail knew of his earlier suicide attempts. They say the death was preventable and that jail footage of what happened has not been released. The Sheriff's Office's internal review is still underway.
