Brian Tyrell Smith
Brian Tyrell Smith was 39 years old. On the night of Friday, June 17, 2016, an officer making a security check found him hanging and unresponsive in a single-person segregation cell at St. Clair Correctional Facility in Springville, Alabama. A physician pronounced him dead about ten minutes later. The Alabama Department of Corrections said it was investigating his death as a suspected suicide.
