Brennan Reynolds

35 years old · died 2025 · Whiteville Correctional Facility, Tennessee

Brennan Reynolds, 35, was held at Whiteville Correctional Facility in western Tennessee, a prison run by CoreCivic. His father, Darrell Reynolds, describes him as a rowdy kid with a good heart who did not deserve what happened to him. Darrell says Brennan was attacked by another man held at the prison, suffered a traumatic brain injury, and died about ten months later, earlier in 2025. The father says staffing shortages at the facility played a role in the attack and that the family had to push for a full investigation and prosecution. CoreCivic says it cooperated with investigators and supports prosecution, and the man who attacked Brennan was later indicted and took a plea deal for aggravated assault.

Cause of death, as reported: Killed by another person in custody (neglect alleged). His father says another inmate attacked him at Whiteville Correctional Facility, causing a traumatic brain injury, and that CoreCivic's staffing shortages played a role in the attack.

Reported by: Darrell Reynolds, his father (family or their lawyers).
