Brandon Kalief Wright
Brandon Wright, 31, of Anchorage, collapsed during a video visit on a Sunday evening in June 2026 while he was held in custody. Loved ones described him in an obituary as optimistic, compassionate and charismatic, and his family is raising funds to cover expenses related to his death. Jail staff began medical care and he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Alaska State Troopers said they do not suspect foul play, and the State Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy.
