Brandon Dale
Brandon Dale had spent a couple of months working on several ranches near Ridgway before he came to town. He was held in the Ridgway town jail, a shack, when a fire broke out on Saturday, September 27, 1908, and he died of suffocation, according to The Plaindealer. The origin of the fire was unknown. The Plaindealer suggested that a cigarette stub or match may have been tossed in to him, though he had been searched for matches.
Cause of death, as reported: Cause not yet determined. The Plaindealer reported that he suffocated when a fire broke out in the Ridgway town jail, and that the origin of the blaze was unknown.
