Brandon Alexander Dominguez
Brandon Alexander Dominguez was 23. The Denton County Sheriff's Office said he had a medical emergency in his housing unit at Denton County Jail in Texas on August 17, 2021, and went into cardiac arrest, and hospital staff found he had COVID-19. A judge granted him a personal recognizance bond that day so his family could make medical decisions, but he was unconscious and could not sign it, and his family chose to end life-saving measures the next day, August 18. A source alleges he was visibly ill for days and did not get adequate care, a account the jail's assistant chief deputy disputes. The Texas Rangers and the county medical examiner are investigating his death.
