Bradley Thomas
Bradley Thomas was a man diagnosed with bipolar disorder who lived on his own and looked after his daily needs, according to Lincoln County attorney Steve Kraemer. His brother Ronald Thomas said he was sickened by how Bradley was treated and that nobody did anything but take notes. The family's lawsuit says that during a severe depressive episode Bradley refused food, water and prescribed medication, and that jail staff did not get him emergency care in Lincoln County, Oregon. The lawsuit also says a county judge had ordered him moved to a state mental hospital, but staff were told no beds were free, and he died in his cell in April 2015. The family received a $2.85 million settlement in 2017.
