Bradley

died November 1860

Bradley, a man held in a jail in the Missouri-Kansas border country in late 1860, was taken from the jail in daylight by a mob, according to a letter from the border region reprinted in the New Orleans Daily Crescent. The letter says the officers present were powerless to stop the mob, and the mob killed him. The account is secondhand and the newspaper text is badly garbled, so the exact location, the sequence of events and the details of his arrest are unclear.

Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched. A St. Louis Republican correspondent's letter, reprinted in the New Orleans Daily Crescent, says a mob took Bradley from a jail in daylight and that the officers present could not stop it.

Reported by: St. Louis Republican correspondent's letter, reprinted in the New Orleans Daily Crescent (reporters).
