Bobby Hutt
Bobby Hutt was described by his sisters as a loving brother who would do anything for anybody. His sisters say he asked for medical care for his leg for months while held at a privately run prison in Arizona contracted by Vermont, and that his femur broke in November 2013 before treatment came. After moving to Southern State Correctional Facility in 2014, he was allowed to go home on medical furlough, where he died on October 27, 2014, of osteosarcoma. His sisters say the Department of Corrections delayed his care and have sued over it, while the department declined to discuss his case, citing medical privacy.
