Billy LaRae Freeland died in 2017 while held at the Tarrant County Jail in Tarrant County, Texas. A May 2024 article by Lone Star Left cited his death as one missing from official counts of deaths in custody. The same article said the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office reported no custodial deaths to the state database for 2017.
