Billy Joe Woods
Billy Joe Woods, 43, of Swoope, died on August 9, 2024, while held at Middle River Regional Jail in Verona. The Augusta County Sheriff's Office said jail staff called for help after finding him, and that efforts to revive him failed. His body was sent for an autopsy, and the sheriff's office said the investigation is ongoing and the cause of death is not yet known.
