Billy Joe Hercules
Billy Joe Hercules, 44, of Independence, Missouri, was held in the custody of the Jackson County Detention Center in Kansas City. He had a medical emergency at the jail around October 19, 2025, and was taken to a hospital, where he later died. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office said it was notified on October 21 of his death and that a preliminary investigation found no physical interaction between him and corrections officers before his death. The Jackson County Medical Examiner's Office has not yet issued a report on the cause and manner of death.
