Bill Johnson

Bill Johnson died in 1859. A Waco, Texas newspaper report from January 1895 says he was shot several times, then taken from a jail by a mob and hanged while still dying. The same report says a trapper found his body, which had turned to stone, on the bank of the Brazos River in 1895, and that the body was recognized as his.
