Betty Lozano
Betty Lozano, 34, of Adelanto, died in July 2017 after she stopped breathing at the High Desert Detention Center; she was taken to a Victorville hospital and died there. Her family's attorneys say she was brought into the jail semi-conscious and left on a cell floor for hours without appropriate medical care. The Sheriff's Department said she had a medical emergency, apparently from a drug-related condition, and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
