Benjamin Vega
Benjamin Vega, 43, of Rohnert Park, died on January 4, 2022, at the Sonoma County Jail, where he was held in a single-person cell. The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office said deputies found him hanging in the cell. Emergency medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene after deputies called for an ambulance. Sheriff's detectives are investigating, and the Marin County Coroner's Office is conducting an independent death investigation under the county's in-custody death protocol.
