Bao Nguyen
Bao Nguyen, 37, died on March 9, 2020, at a hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska, while under the supervision of the Community Corrections Center in Lincoln, which the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services runs. Local news reports at the time said he was on a pre-approved 48-hour furlough to an immediate family member's home and that the cause of death had not yet been determined. The Lancaster County Grand Jury later heard evidence and found his death accidental and due to methamphetamine toxicity, returning a no-true bill that found no criminal wrongdoing. The Nebraska State Patrol investigated, and a three-officer panel of homicide investigators from Lincoln Police and the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office also reviewed the evidence.
