Leavenworth County, Kansas

BAINES was held in the jail at Leavenworth, Kansas Territory, when a mob came for him. The mob took him from the jail and hanged him, along with a man named QUARLES. Both men were killed by the mob that took them from the jail.

Cause of death, as reported: Taken from custody and lynched
