Avon Rollins
Avon Rollins, a 39-year-old Black man, died on March 31, 2023, while held in a jail in Shelby County, Tennessee. The Shelby County Sheriff's Office said he died of fentanyl toxicity. The Commercial Appeal reported in August 2023 that it had not yet reviewed the autopsy, so the cause and circumstances of his death remain as the sheriff's office described them.
