Atwell Conner
Atwell Conner, Jr., 71, died of colon cancer on October 2, 2016, while in hospice care at Anamosa State Penitentiary in Iowa, according to KCRG. The Iowa Department of Corrections, through spokesman Fred Scaletta, said the death was from natural causes. The UCLA Law Behind Bars data project also records his death in Iowa Department of Corrections custody at Anamosa State Penitentiary on that date.
