Asaiah Washington
Asaiah Washington, 40, died on July 26, 2024, while held at the Sacramento County Main Jail. His wife, Tonette Washington, says he was diabetic, full of energy, and 'totally fine' on every day except the one before his death. Sheriff's deputies found him and his cellmate unresponsive in their cell, and both were given Narcan; the cellmate was revived. The sheriff's office has said the death is under investigation, and his wife says the family has not been contacted and disputes that an overdose is likely. Toxicology results are expected to take six to nine months.
