Artemio Ortega Reyes
Artemio Ortega Reyes, 40, died on March 1, 2024, after being held at the Mendocino County Jail in Ukiah, California. The Mendocino County Sheriff's Office said a man in his two-person cell was found unconscious around noon, and that the events appeared to be a suspected drug overdose. Ortega Reyes was taken to a local hospital, where the sheriff's office said he died on arrival, and four other men in the same housing module were treated with Narcan.
